The flat is in a building that is over 200 years old. The big eat-in kitchen has its original flagstone floor, and the flat has what they call Georgian character -- tall ceilings and original mouldings and hard-wood floors. The living room has a piano, a fireplace, and a view up to nearby Calton Hill. The master bedroom has floor to ceiling windows looking out over the mews with gardens and converted carriage houses, furnished with a CA king bed. The 2nd bedroom includes a double-bed loft with another double bed below. The big 3rd bedroom is currently used as a combined bedroom/office/playroom. It has a sofa with fold-out bed, a computer desk, and an electric piano & electronic drum kit. There are two bathrooms -- one with a tub and one with a standing shower. In the kitchen, we have a dishwasher and a washing machine. We're in a building that has 6 flats, 2 per floor, and the neighbors maintain plants and flowers on the front steps and in the stairwell. You'll be in walking distance to Waverley Station, Princes Street, and Old Town, plus a number of buses and tram nearby -- the central location makes it easy to get most anywhere in Edinburgh without a car. Who we are: We've been living in Edinburgh for 8 years (in this flat). We're originally from America. Hannah is an academic, in Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh; Ronen does stuff with computers, working in tech startups and computer graphics. We'll be away from the flat for sabbatical. We're subletting our flat here while we're away -- not looking to make a profit on it, just trying to recoup the costs of our rent and expenses here while we pay for a sublet for ourselves.
